KidHub strongly believes in accessible and inclusive education for all students. KidHub believes that every individual is equally valuable and does not discriminate or marginalize based on any protected status, as outlined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Remaining professional, confidential, and trustworthy educators to our students, we will strive to create an environment and culture of safety, trust, care, and compassion by doing the following:
While KidHub strives to provide a one-to-one support staff for students with additional needs, this is not always possible. Lack of government funding, staffing, appropriate physical space, and other practical limitations sometimes make it difficult for us to provide a support staff for all students that need one. In such cases, we may decline registrations or suspend care until appropriate resources are available to properly support the student at our program.
Additionally, for children that already have approved support staff, there is the unfortunate possibility that this support staff may become ill, or may not be available to come in to work for a certain day or period. Should an appropriate substitute not be available, for the health and safety of both the student with additional needs and the remaining students of the program, we may request that parents/guardians keep their child home until the support staff is able to return to work.
