At KidHub, we recognize and respect parents and guardians as the primary caregivers and decision-makers in their child’s life. When parents are present, particularly during pickup and drop-off times, they naturally take the lead in managing their child’s behaviour. Our approach is grounded in maintaining the parent’s authority and fostering a consistent, trusting relationship between home and program.
Staff will not take the lead in addressing a child’s behaviour when a parent or guardian is present. If a child exhibits challenging behaviour during these transitional times, staff will defer to the parent to guide and manage the situation.
Staff may offer supportive assistance if appropriate, but only in a way that complements the parent’s efforts without taking over. This ensures that staff maintain a respectful, secondary role in the presence of the primary caregiver. Intervention by staff will occur only if:
