Background
KidHub is dedicated to maintaining a healthy environment for all children in our programs. To prevent the spread of communicable diseases, it is important for parents to follow established guidelines for when to keep their child at home.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to guide parents in deciding when their child should stay home due to illness, using the “Common Childhood Communicable Disease Exclusion Criteria” chart as a reference.
Policy
Parents are responsible for referring to the exclusion criteria chart, provided below, to decide when to keep their child home due to illness. Children should remain home until they meet the criteria for returning to the program. KidHub will inform parents if a child shows signs of illness during the program, and if the child will need to be picked up.

- Re-admittance: Children can return to the program once they meet the criteria for re-admittance outlined in the exclusion chart, which may include being symptom-free for a specified period.

Responsibilities
- Parents/Guardians: Ensure that their child stays home when necessary based on the exclusion criteria and that they only return to the program when it's safe.
