KidHub strives to provide a safe, healthy, and positive atmosphere where every child can thrive. Our high expectations for respectful and kind behaviour ensure a positive group environment in which children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn and grow — giving parents peace of mind.
Using a variety of positive behaviour strategies, we work with each child to help them succeed in the program. However, KidHub maintains a zero-tolerance policy for physically or verbally aggressive behaviour and any actions that endanger children, staff, or the environment.
If a child refuses to listen to the KidHub teachers, engages in bullying, or exhibits aggressive behaviour—whether physical or verbal—teachers will first attempt to redirect the child. If these efforts are unsuccessful, a warning or flag will be issued as part of the behaviour management process.
KidHub reserves the right to issue an Orange or Red Flag immediately, depending on the severity of the incident. In serious cases where a child’s behaviour poses an immediate threat to the safety or well-being of themselves, other children, or staff, KidHub also reserves the right to terminate care immediately, without following the standard flag system.

Receiving a Yellow Flag means the child will be sent home immediately for the remainder of the day and/or the following day, in accordance with our zero-tolerance policy for physical aggression, harassment, or other serious behaviours. This may include, but is not limited to, abusive language, running away from the group, or other behaviours deemed unsafe or disruptive at the Director’s discretion.
The Program Director will contact the parents/guardians to collaboratively develop an Individual Support Plan for the child to follow upon their return to the program. KidHub reserves the right to escalate to an Orange or Red Flag before the allotted time is completed if the child displays behaviour that endangers themselves, others, or the environment.

Receiving an Orange Flag means the child will be suspended from the program for one calendar week at the client’s expense. This may include, but is not limited to, continued physical aggression, harassment, abusive language, running away from the group, or other behaviours deemed unsafe or disruptive at the Director’s discretion.
Before the child can return to the program, a meeting between the parents/guardians and the Program Director is mandatory to review the Behaviour Support Plan and establish new goals for the child’s success. Parents/guardians are encouraged to work with their child at home to support the development of positive behaviours during the suspension. KidHub reserves the right to escalate to a Red Flag before the allotted time is completed if the child displays behaviour that endangers themselves, others, or the environment.

Receiving a Red Flag means the child’s care at KidHub will be permanently terminated. This may result from repeated or severe behaviours such as physical aggression, harassment, abusive language, running away from the group, or other actions deemed unsafe or disruptive at the Director’s discretion.
KidHub reserves the right to take this step to maintain the safety, well-being, and positive environment of the program. While we sincerely hope such an extreme measure will never be necessary, the safety of all children, staff, and the program remains our highest priority

This achievement will be celebrated with a certificate of completion, symbolizing a fresh start in the program. At KidHub, we are dedicated to fostering positive behaviour, self-regulation, and success, and we proudly acknowledge the efforts of children and families in creating a supportive and thriving environment.
