Background

KidHub values the well-being and success of every student. We do not discriminate based on any protected status as outlined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Policy

We understand that some children attending our program may have exceptional needs. When necessary, KidHub will make every effort to provide One-to-One support workers and ensure they are trained in current, effective methods to meet the individual needs of the children they support. Activities will be planned with these needs in mind, ensuring all children can participate fully and benefit from the program.

KidHub teachers will maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and trust while fostering a safe, caring, and supportive environment. This includes:

Limitations

KidHub has limited resources and space to provide one-to-one support. Lack of government funding, staffing, appropriate physical space, and other practical limitations can make it difficult to provide a support worker for all students who require one. In such cases, we may decline registrations or temporarily suspend care until appropriate resources are available to properly support the child.

For children who already have approved support staff, there may be occasions when the staff is unavailable due to illness or other reasons. If a qualified substitute cannot be provided, parents/guardians may be asked to keep their child home until the support staff is able to return, in order to ensure the health and safety of the child and the rest of the program.
